Curcumin treatment of HT22 cells attenuated 1% O2- or CoCl2-induced lipid peroxidation process. Cells were either treated with DMSO (a control vehicle) or curcumin (2 μM) and then either exposed to O2 (1%) or CoCl2 (100 or 200 μM) to generate hypoxic stress. After 48 h, cells were assessed for levels of lipid peroxidation (LPO) using LPO assay as described earlier (15).
