Experiments similar to those shown in Fig. 14, A–D, except that the oocytes were exposed sequentially to 1) ND96, 2) 33 mM HCO₃⁻, 3) a 33-mM HCO₃⁻ solution that contained 500 μM benzamil, and finally 4) to the benzamil-free 33 mM HCO₃⁻.
