Primary cultures of esophageal α-SMA stromal cells lack CD45. Analysis of primary cultures of stromal cells by flow cytometry using antibodies for cell surface protein CD45 (A) demonstrates that these cells lack expression of this hematopoietic cell marker. Cells harvested from the spleen were used as the positive control.
