* Central obesity is defined as waist circumference ≥ 90 cm for men and ≥ 80 cm for women.

Trends in the prevalence of central obesity from 1993 to 2009 were assessed by Cochran-Armitage trend testing.

P for interaction terms (survey × sex, survey × age, survey × rural/urban settings, and survey × education group) were assessed by logistic regression analysis.
