Induction of TLSL in naked DNA exposed to ⁶²Ni ions is suppressed by DMSO. Exponentially growing M059K cells were embedded in agarose and subjected to LTL. Generated “naked” DNA was exposed to 5 Gy of 1 GeV accelerated ⁶²Ni ions in the presence of 0% (A) or 2% (B) DMSO. Subsequently, agarose blocks were incubated in TEN buffer at different temperatures for the indicated periods of time and analyzed by PFGE. Data represent the calculated average and standard deviation from 4 determinations (agarose blocks) in one experiment.
