A. Contigs were grouped by estimated length into blocks of 100 kb, and the total length of each block calculated and plotted. The length of each contig was estimated from the fingerprints using an average consensus band length of 1200 bp. B. The depth of coverage of each contig was calculated by multiplying the number of clones in the contig by the average BAC insert size (105 kb) and dividing by the contig length.
