Table I.

Genomic DNA primers used to amplify γ-Crystallin gene family (Crygb-Crygf)

Primer Name Forward Sequence (5′-3′) Reverse Sequence (5′-3′)
Crygb Exon1–2 TGTGTGATTTCCTGTGGAGG TGCTCTAATTGAAACGACTTGG
Crygb Exon3 GAGGTGTCGGGACAGGAAAC GGAAGTTCCTTCCCATCTCTG
Crygc Exon1–2 TCCGCTAACACAGCAACAAC GACAAACAAACCCTATTCTCTGG
Crygc Exon3 CGTTGTTTAGCTTGGGTGAG TGTAGGGAGAGTTTACAGGTGG
Crygd Exon1–2 CCTTTTGTGCTGTTCCTGC GGCAACTGCAGTCAGGGTC
Crygd Exon3 ATGGCTTGATGCAGCTGAG CCAATAAACATGAGCAAACAGG
Cryge Exon1–2 TTGTGCTGTTCCTGCCAAC CGGCCACAGATGTTACTAGC
Cryge Exon3 TGGGTTTCCAAGTTCAGGTC CATCCTTTCTTTGCTGTGCC

All Crygb-e genes consist of three exons. The first primer pair was used to amplify exon 1–2 (including intron 1) and the second primer pair was used to amplify exon 3.
