Intrinsic efficacy profiles of novel compounds with functional selectivity for GABA_A receptor subtypes. Intrinsic efficacy values were determined in human recombinant GABA_A receptors containing β3 and γ2 subunits, combined with α1, α2, α3, or α5 subunits, using whole-cell patch-clamp electrophysiology. Values are expressed relative to the efficacy measured at each subtype using the nonselective high efficacy benzodiazepine agonist chlordiazepoxide. Graphs are adapted from (Atack 2010, 2011).
