Structures of Oat Root Avenacins.

The C-21 acyl group consists of either N-methyl anthranilate or benzoate, depending on the R1 group. The major avenacin found in oat roots is avenacin A-1, which is acylated with N-methyl anthranilate (Crombie et al., 1984).
