ApoE−/− and DKO adult mice were fed with chow or Western-type diet for 10 weeks. AC. Body weight, total plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels after fasting were measured. Data are presented are mean±SEM, n=8. DE. Lipoprotein profiles. The lipid distribution in plasma lipoprotein fractions from apoE−/− and DKO mice under chow (D) or diet (E) were assessed by fast-performance liquid chromatography (FPLC) gel filtration with 2 Superose 6 HR 10/30 columns (Pharmacia). Peaks for VLDL, IDL/LDL and HDL are indicated. Note: HDL was reduced upon Western-type diet in both ApoE−/− and DKO mice.
