Values are mean ± SD for the comparison of baseline versus 3 years and mean ± SE for each annual change during the 3 years.

*

Changes between the scans were annualized because of different times between the visits for different subjects. The calculation of changes was limited to patients with all 4 annual visits. Thus, the sample size is smaller than for the comparison of baseline versus 3 years.

The smaller sample size (n = 31) was the results of 2 patients not having both lipid-rich necrotic core (LRNC) positive (+) and LRNC negative (−) slices.

Paired t test.

p < 0.001 when compared to null hypothesis of zero change.

p ≤ 0.01 when compared to year 1.

p < 0.001 when compared to zero change.
