Fat and protein consumptions during flight were simulated according to Flight Program. Only birds with sufficient mass (body mass >158 g) for arrival at the breeding grounds were analyzed. The open symbols indicate a bird with a body mass of 178.7 g, which was the average body mass of birds captured during the last week of staging.
