FRNK expression is impaired and FAK activation is increased in human IPF lung tissues. A: Lesional tissues were captured by LCM from frozen IPF lung sections (as in Figure 3G). Total RNA was extracted from captured IPF lung tissues and normal human lung tissue controls (Normal). FRNK mRNA levels were examined by quantitative real-time PCR. Data are normalized to GAPDH and represented as % of FRNK mRNA level relative to that in Normals. Data are given as means ± SE (n = 13 individual subjects with IPF and 6 individual normal human subjects). ∗P < 0.01.
