(A) Cardiac gene expression ratios for cardiac LCFA transporters (Got2, Slc27a1, Slc27a6, and Cd36) and for two enzymes of LCFA synthesis, stearoyl CoA desaturase-1 (Scd1), and fatty acid synthase (Fasn). Cd36 and Scd1 were significantly up-regulated in 18% EtOH-fed mice. (B) V_max for [³H]-oleic acid uptake in cardiomyocytes was significantly correlated with the Cd36 gene expression ratio in all EtOH groups.
