The one-mode projection on symptoms of the bipartite network (shown in Figure 1), reveals how pairs of symptoms co-occur across patients. The edge thickness is proportional to the number of times two symptoms co-occur in a patient. Highly co-occurring symptom are pulled together, and because of the nested structure, have also been pulled to the center.
