vMIA is sufficient for Bax recruitment to MAM lipid rafts. HFFs (2 × 107 cells) were transfected with vectors expressing vMIA1–163-YFP, CBD I1–163-CFP, or CBDII1–163-YFP (41). Controls were transfected with YFP vector alone. Twenty-four hours after transfection, DRMs were isolated and banded on flotation gradients as described previously (41). Each gradient fraction (20 μl) was examined by Western blotting using rabbit anti-Bax (1:500; Millipore), mouse anti-Cav1 (1:500; BD Biosciences), and mouse anti-GFP/YFP/CFP (1:200; Santa Cruz).
