The influence of photoblinking on noise-free data. (a) Simulated results (data points) show that the RSD equals 1∕N for different number of displacements N, perfectly matching the RSD predicted by Fisher information theory (line).15, 17 (b) The distribution of diffusion coefficients for trajectories of N = 20 (data points), fitted with log-normal distribution (line).38 There is only minor difference between the simulated distribution and the fit. The result signifies that photoblinking does not influence the log-normal distribution of the diffusion coefficient.
