Gonadally intact female mice were subjected to sham (Intact/sham) or ovariectomy (OVX) procedure. OVXed animals were either implanted with placebo (OVX + placebo) or estradiol hormone pellets (OVX + E2). These 3 sets of mice were split into normal myelination (NM), demyelination (DM), and remyelination (RM) groups
