Human beta cell dysfunction induced by pro-inflammatory cytokines is partially reversed by a neutralising IL-12 antibody. Static GSIS in human donor islets untreated (control) or treated overnight with pro-inflammatory cytokines (cytokine) in the presence or absence of a neutralising antibody to IL-12. Insulin secreted in response to 3.3 mmol/l glucose (low, grey bars) or 16.7 mmol/l glucose (high, black bars) was determined by ELISA. Data are from three human donor islet preparations. *p<0.05.
