Effect of hypoxia on protein kinase Cε (PKCε) protein and mRNA abundance in fetal hearts. Hearts were isolated from 21-day fetuses from pregnant rats treated with normoxia control or hypoxia from day 15 to day 21 of gestation. PKCε protein and mRNA abundance was determined using Western blot analysis and quantitative real-time RT-PCR, respectively. Actin was used as a loading control.
