An osteochondral plug harvest. A skin incision approximately 4–5 cm in length was made on the calcaneocuboid joint (a) and exposed the joint by dissecting the extensor digitorum brevis and identifying the sural nerve (b). A 5-mm-thick cartilage plug was harvested from the superior corner of cuboid surface of the calcaneus using a 7-mm punch at the forefoot supination position (c, d). The harvested chondrocytes were transplanted onto the culture media and transported to the cell culture laboratory (e)
