GW501516 induces PLIN2 mRNA expression in M1 but not in M2 macrophages. Pro-inflammatory M1 or anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages were obtained after 7 days of stimulation with IFN-γ or IL-4, respectively, followed by treatment with the PPARδ agonist, GW501516, for 4 h. The relative mRNA expression of the PPARδ target genes, (A) PLIN2 and (B) CPT1A, was analyzed in the two phenotypes of macrophages. A representative result is shown.
