Lung macrophages (COPD n = 9) were stimulated for 24 hours with LPS (1 µg/ml) after a 2 h pre-incubation with 17-BMP (0.01–100 nM) or dexamethasone (0.01–1000 nM). Data shown are mean ± SEM percentage of LPS effect constrained to 100% for the production of (A) CXCL8, (B) TNFα and (C) IL-6 ELISAs. Two-tailed paired t-tests were performed at each concentration; * P<0.05, ** P<0.01, *** P<0.001.
