Females and males were housed for 6 days (1–6) in interaction vials before they were moved to egg-laying vials for two days (days 7 & 8). Adults were then discarded. Eggs in egg-laying vials were allowed to develop and individuals emerging from these started subsequent generations (virgin collection on day 15).
