The 6-phosphogluconate dehydratase (edd mutant) is the only mutant with a Crc-binding motif tested that gives the same gluconate accumulation phenotype as the rpoN mutant. Extracellular gluconate concentrations for mutant strains are given by the size of the red dot in a white square.
