Tuning the nanosilver crystallite size by a) the SiO2 content of the final product nanosilver particles and b) the injection height of the SiO2 precursor vapor at 30 (circles) 25 (triangles) and 20 cm (squares) above the flame spray burner. Increasing the SiO2-content prevents Ag-nanoparticle agglomeration and crystal growth. The injection of HMDSO (the SiO2 precursor) at lower heights cools the flame aerosol and prevents also further Ag crystal growth.[26]
