Expression levels of miR-874 in HNSCC clinical specimens and effect of miR-874 transfection on SAS and FaDu cells. (A) Real-time RT–PCR showed that miR-874 was significantly downregulated in HNSCC clinical specimens compared with normal specimens (n=23). (B) Cell proliferation activity after transfection of miR-874 was determined by XTT assay. Suppression of cell proliferation was similarly observed in both Ambion and Thermo Scientific Dharmacon miR-874, taking into consideration the off-target effects of dsRNAs. Trials were independently conducted three times. *P<0.01.
