Fig. 5 — Subcellular distribution of LDH-C₄ in somatic tissues of plateau pika. A positive signal in cytoplasm in heart, liver, lung, kidney, brain, skeletal muscle and testis (Panel A) was obtained using Western blotting as well as in testicular mitochondria (Panel B). No positive signal (Panel B) for extracts of mitochondria of somatic tissues was observed, suggesting that LDHC in somatic tissues was translated only in the cytoplasm while in testis it was expressed in both cytoplasm and mitochondria.
