The surface density of pointed ends (in Inline graphic) at a sequence of times. The actin waves stall between Inline graphic, upon reaching the boundary of the PTEN region Inline graphic. The PTEN region is stationary for Inline graphic and then translates to the right at a speed of Inline graphic, causing the wave to retract at the left and advance at the right.
