Survival curves for male and female insulin receptor knockout (IRKO+/−) mice and wild-type (WT) littermates (IRKO+/+ mice). The overall effect of genotype was not significant (p = .079, Cox proportional hazards test), but there was a significant interaction (p = .046) between genotype and sex interpretable as a lowering of mortality rate in males and an unchanged mortality rate in females as explained in the Methods section.
