Compartmentalization of pulmonary LPS tolerance. Mice were given either PBS or 100 ng LPS on day 0 by direct intratracheal installation. After 48 h, mice were injected i.p. with 100 ng LPS. Blood was collected by facial vein bleed at the indicated timepoints post final challenge and plasma TNF-α (A) and IL-6 (B) levels were measured.
