In vitro characterization of unenriched and enriched neural stem cells (NSCs) prior to injection show similar amounts of nestin+ and GFAP+ progenitor cells with 3.5-fold more CD15+ cells in enriched population. (A–C): Immunocytochemical staining for CD15 shows an increase of CD15-positive cells from 20% in unenriched NSCs to 70% in enriched NSCs. (D–I): Immunocytochemical staining reveals similar distribution of undifferentiated NSC markers, nestin (D–F) and GFAP (G–I), between unenriched and enriched cells. 4′,6-Diamidino-2-phenylindole was used for counterstaining the individual cells.
