Figure 1

Flowchart of the isolation of platelet-poor plasma (PPP) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) releasates. During surgery, a total of 15 mL of whole blood was drawn from the femoral artery. PPP and PRP were prepared by using two separate centrifugation techniques. Five milliliters of whole blood was used for isolating autologous serum. After clot formation by adding autologous serum and CaCl2, the PPP- and PRP-releasates were isolated from the clotted PPP and PRP by centrifugation.
