Predicted and observed MN induction by a benzimidazole mixture in the CBMN assay. The mixture of seven MN-inducing benzimidazoles was designed at a fixed mixture ratio, using the estimated threshold concentrations of the individual compounds. The mixture effects were predicted according to CA (thick black curve, as indicated) and IA (thick dark grey curve, as indicated). The dashed curves show the respective 95% CIs for the predictions. The thin grey curves indicate the effects of the individual benzimidazoles at the concentrations present within the mixture. Experimental concentration–response data were pooled data from at least three independent experiments (black dots).
