O₂⁻ generated by hypoxanthine – xanthine oxidase reaction was used to oxidize NBT (Nitro Blue Tetrazolium). The oxidation was spectrophotometrically measured at 560 nm after 30 min, in the absence or in the presence of tested compounds (100 μM). Values are expressed as absorbance arbitrary units (A.U.). *P < 0.01 with respect to the reference value.
