Phylogenetic position of Sinocyclocheilus. A phylogenetic tree generated by Maximum Likelihood analysis of the combined nucleotide sequences of the CGD paralogs of zic1 and gpr85, which have a single copy in human and zebrafish. Analysis confirms that the Sinocyclocheilus lineage experienced a genome duplication after its divergence from zebrafish and shows that zebrafish is the closest species to Sinocyclocheilus with a sequenced genome. Numbers at the nodes denote the bootstrap percentages of 100 replicates. Sequences for all taxa can be found in supplementary table S5, Supplementary Material online.
