There was no significant difference in technician time (H = 0.73, P = 0.69) among bedding types. (B) The amount of water used (gallons per 2-wk period) in sanitization procedures for the nonbedded control units and units bedded with pine or pine–aspen mix shavings. Units with shavings used significantly (Kruskall–Wallis H = 7.1, P = 0.03) less water than did nonbedded control units.
