HIF-1 activation in HepG2 cells upon S. aureus infection. Four hours after infection of HepG2 HIF-1α−/− and HepG2 cells with S. aureus 8325-4 (MOI, 20), proteins were extracted, and HIF-1 expression was detected by immunoblotting. Actin was used as a loading control. Uninfected cells were used as the negative control, and DFO (200 μM) was used as the positive control.
