The biodistribution of trypsin- and pronase-detached allogeneic bone marrow-mesenchymal stromal/stem cells in a porcine model 8 hours postinjection. A whole-body planar scan shows prominent radioactivity in the lungs (A). Significantly less radioactivity was detected in the lungs in the pronase group animals compared with the trypsin group (B), whereas in other organs the activities were similar between the groups (C). Results are presented as volume of interest (B) and region of interest (C) activities from single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography images and correlated to input activity.
