Aβ-AGE with a special CD profile is more toxic to hippocampal neurons than the authentic Aβ. (a–f) The hippocampal neurons cultured 8 DIV were treated with Aβ or Aβ-AGE for 24 h, then the viability of the neurons was analyzed by using CCK-8 kit (a); the apoptosis rate was examined by flow cytometry (b); the level of tau phosphorylation at Thr231 and Ser396 (c and d) and synaptic proteins (e and f) were analyzed by western blot.
