The enzyme-driven assembly of nanoscale fibrils. In this example, a phosphatase catalyzes the dephosphorylation of a phosphorylated peptide substrate conjugated to a polyethylene oxide polymer. This reaction generates a dephosphorylated peptide designed for β-sheet formation, leading to polymer aggregation and subsequent assembly of nanofibrils. TEM modified from ref. 78.
