Contextual cues are provided on P-S cuing, but not on F-B cuing (depicted as []), which leads to erroneous task-set repetitions on state-transition trials, and concomitantly to “wrong”-outcomes (Ow). Note the uncertainty of outcomes (“right” or “wrong,” Or/w) on uncertain P-S state-transition trials and on uncertain F-B state-repetition1 trials. Depending on the outcome valence, task-set repetitions or task-set switches are required on subsequent trials.
