mRNA expression of IL-17A in the CNS was higher acutely than chronically. Real-time quantitative PCR (n = 6) on PSDs 10, 14, 17, and 28 revealed significantly elevated mRNA expression of IL-17A on PSD 14, during acute disease, compared with CFA mice. This expression declined by PSD 17. The horizontal dotted line indicates basal IL-17A expression in naive animals. Data are shown as means ± SEM. P < 0.05.
