Sample sizes are N = 20, 21, and 19 for WT mice at 8, 20, and 28 months, respectively; and N = 25 and 20 for 8 and 20 months Sod1−/− mice, respectively. Two-factor ANOVA showed a significant effect between 8- and 20-month values for Pmax, as indicated by the bracket, but post-hoc analysis revealed no individual differences.
