(A) Rice plants of three rice cultivars (cv. “Nipponbare,” “Koshihikari,” and “Gohyakumangoku”) after the I treatment in the pots filled with perlite. Seedlings were cultured with Kasugai's nutrient solution (pH 5.5) in the green house under natural light condition. Twelve days-old rice seedings were subjected to iodine treatment (I 100 μmol L−1) for 21 days. (B) Concentration of iodine in shoots and roots of rice (“Nipponbare,” “Koshihikari,” and “Gohyakumangoku”) after the I treatment. Data are mean ± standard error (n = 4).
