Table I. Protein body number per 100 μm2 of fourth subaleurone starchy endosperm cell layer.

Protein body counts were made by sampling 100-μm2 regions, which excluded nuclei and cell walls, within 18-DAP fourth subaleurone endosperm cells. Average is derived from counts of four TEM sections (two independent kernels and two independent embedments of each kernel).
