MnmE has no effect on the transcription of PicdA-lacZ and PlpdA-lacZ, two ArcA dependent promoters. β-galactosidase activities of chromosomal PicdA-lacZ (black bars) and PlpdA-lacZ (stripe bars) fusions were measured from cells grown anaerobically to exponential phase (A600 = 0.3) in minimal M9 glucose medium.
