Variance in the position of bumps as it depends on asymmetric reciprocal connectivity (κ₁ ≠ κ₂) when noise in each area is independent and identical (c₁ = c₂ = 1). Fixing κ₂ = 0.02 and varying κ₁, we find (A) the variance 〈Δ₁(t)² of bump 1 decreases as coupling from area 2 to 1 (κ₁) increases; (B) variance 〈Δ₂(t)²〉 of bump 2 remain relatively unchanged.
