Mean post-abstinence ratios based on % alcohol preference [(grams of alcohol fluid consumed divided by grams of alcohol fluid consumed + grams of water fluid consumed) x 100] for the first abstinence period (no injection) and for the second abstinence period (injection) for the C57BL/6NCRL mice trained with the 3% alcohol concentration (n=24). The injection given prior to the first session following the second abstinence period was either naltrexone (n=12) or saline (n=12). The post-abstinence ratio for each subject was calculated as [(session 1 of the post-abstinence period) / (session 1 of the post-abstinence period + mean of the last 5 sessions of the pre-abstinence period)].
