The lowest antibody:toxin molar ratio (MR) required to protect 100% of mice, or the highest antibody:toxin dose tested if 100% protection could not be obtained, are shown. Mice receiving commercial equine N. kaouthia antivenom (10×w/w) served as a positive control while non-specific VHH P2 pre-incubated with α–Cbtx served as negative control. With the exception of the post-toxin administration experiments, the toxin and the antibody preparations were pre-incubated for 1 hr at 37°C before i.p. administration to mice.
